Ms Norma Sit
Youth Life Ownership was founded in 2006 by Norma Sit as a response to statistics that showed that about 1 in 5 youths in Singapore are deemed clinically depressed. Norma was a speaker on the Action Community for Enterprise programme, set up by SPRING to encourage Singapore youths to think about entrepreneurship. She felt strongly that it is critical for youths of diverse talents and backgrounds to gain a sense of self-value, self-worth and life-purpose before they decide on any career or economic path for their lives.
Norma developed a programme known as The COMPASS which is used for training the youths. The programme has since evolved to serve targetted needs, while maintaining broadbased appeal.
